I'm looking at the menu on my Netflix account, and I know for a fact there are a thousand things I could be watching. So why why why have I seen Girlboss 4 times, all seasons of Riverdale at least 3 times, and watched the same Adam Sandler films over and over again?
I've seen a few posts and blogs linking anxiety and rewatching, which makes a lot of sense to me. There's a quote I found that says “If you live in the past, you’re bound to get depressed. If you live in the future, you’re bound to be anxious because the future is unknown. Stay in the present and focus on what you do know”, and I can definitely relate to that. Whenever I'm feeling tense and anxious, which is happening more and more as the pandemic goes on, I find it really hard to find something to focus on that doesn't make it worse. That's when I turn on Netflix, make a cup of tea, and watch something I could recite off by heart.
